Your Freedom to Fly

This AOPA Video explains the Aviation industry and what its like to become a pilot.

Make your dream a reality

Piloting is much different from flying. You are in control. The freedom is yours and General Aviation is completely different from commercial aviation. Enjoy the thrill of the take-off and the exhilaration of the landing. Master the controls in flight maneuvers, precision turning, pitch and roll. Understand navigation like never before as you travel cross country to distant airports using VORs, GPS navigation and radio communications. Learn why safety is paramount in aviation and how YOU are the best asset in the cockpit for making every flight safe.

From Student Pilot to Certified Pilot

Flight training can be aggressive, but most new pilots need the right amount of time to get the basics down. You advance at your own pace, without other students slowing you down. What's Required

Friendly Instruction

Sue Mosher is not a drill sargent in the cockpit, she developes your skills through careful demonstration and explanation. She knows how to keep you on track without all the "Yes Sir, No Sir" military approach.

Pass your Written Exam

Flying is only one part of the training. Ground school and studies are what makes you successful for the FAA Written Exam. You'll work with your instructor to personally achieve your study goals and practice tests, until you are ready to ace the exam.

Pass your Practical Test

Your Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) will test you on standard maneuvers that are required, showing ability and proficiency. Study and practice those skills in advance with your Flight Instructor (CFI) and learn the muscle memory that makes the Practical test easy and stress free.

Pass your Oral Exam

Before you can take your Practical test, you need to show the Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) that you can plan a flight, make important weather considerations, calculate fuel burn and time to arrive at your destination. Working with Sue you gain aeronautical knowledge and decision making skills that help you get through your oral exam easily.

What's Required

Becoming a professional aviator is also great career path.

“Sue makes learning how to fly fun and enjoyable. You should enjoy it while getting the license.”

G. Effinger, Steamboat Springs

“I was a 747 Captain, but had limited experience flying light aircraft in the Mountains. Sue taught me Mountain Flying and made me feel comfortable at in the Rockies."

G. Moretto, Boulder

To say I was lucky having Sue as a flight instructor would be a massive understatement. Sue skillfully taught me how to fly - and much more - with an inviting approach each lesson. She is notably comfortable in the cockpit which makes you feel more at ease as a student. Sue’s knowledge and passion led me to choose a career in aviation. If you are looking for high quality instruction, I strongly recommend Sue!

K. Sharp, Greeley

As a professional in the aviation industry, I have been thru all kinds of training. Sue is now an amazing part of my journey in aviation. I will not hesitate to return to her for continued pilot training. She expertly guided me thru everything I needed to become a pilot.  Her wealth of knowledge and experience was invaluable in this process giving me the knowledge and confidence to be prepared for the check ride. Anyone looking for a CFI would not go wrong in choosing Sue for their instruction.

“As a rusty pilot, Sue got me back in the left seat, and flying my own plane again with confidence. She also helped train my wife emergency operations, just in case.”

T. Fox, Steamboat Springs

“I did not know the first thing about flying before I met Sue. She has taught me everything, and opened my eyes to the joy of aviation.”

P. Komor, Steamboat Springs

I can’t say enough good things about Sue and her ability to instruct. She helped me get my private pilot’s license, and chase my dream of flying. As a result, a whole new world has opened up to me. Sue’s stye of teaching is to help you learn; she doesn’t just tell you. She will let you make mistakes that won’t hurt you so that you can better learn what happens and how to avoid it next time. She’ll push you when you need to be pushed and be patient when you need that. If I ever felt uncomfortable about weather, Sue never forced me to fly or put pressure on rescheduling. I have been involved in a couple of difficult situations - if you fly, we all will. In rough turbulence, and once having to declare an emergency, Sue’s teaching voice came right back to me “first, fly the plane”. Once I had to get rather direct with ATC and tell them what I was going to do in order to fly the plane safely and what they needed to do to accommodate me. The confidence to do so came from Sue. She’s extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to fly with!
